Dried pineapple
Dried pineapple is pineapple that has had the majority of its water content removed through drying processes, such as air drying or dehydrating. The drying process helps to preserve the fruit and extend its shelf life by reducing the moisture content, which inhibits the growth of microorganisms that can cause spoilage.
Typically, dried pineapple retains much of the natural sweetness and flavor of fresh pineapple, but it has a chewy and concentrated texture due to the reduction in water. It can be enjoyed as a convenient and portable snack, added to trail mixes, used in baking, or incorporated into various dishes for added sweetness and tropical flavor. Keep in mind that some commercially available dried pineapple may contain added sugars or preservatives, so it’s a good idea to check the product label if you have specific dietary preferences or restrictions.
